    Corrosion-Resisting Stainless Steels
    In order to maintain stable passivation in oxidizing acid, the chromium content of stainless steel should reach about 18%. When the chromium content is 18%, in order to obtain austenitic structure at room temperature, the steel grade needs to add 8%-9% nickel. The steel constructed in this way is 18-8 stainless steel. 1Cr18Ni9 is the basic type of 18-8 stainless steel, and its carbon content is about 0.1%. By changing the chemical composition on this basis, steel grades with different properties can be obtained.
